Moving On - Michael Giacchino
The most beautiful thing you will ever hear.
I think the thing I love most about this, (even if you hated the finale) is that it’s not just a beautiful piece of music, but it has a little bit of every emotional score from Lost from the 6 seasons, reinterpreted. There’s the theme made for the church scene, and it seems to go back in time from there. There’s pieces of the Oceanic Six theme (“There’s No Place Like Home”), the raft/Oceanic 815 theme (“Parting Words”), and then, finally, the quintessential “Life and Death” theme. It reminds us of the show we’ve lost and why we loved it so much.
I still haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the final season, but this is making me cry. Giacchino is one of my favorite composers ever. Absolutely flawless.
